OOTD - June 9th + Some sunshine pictures

Blouse: Gina Tricot
Cardigan: Fretex (Salvation Army store)
Skirt: Etsy
Shoes: H&M

Today has so far been beautiful! Krish was working so I headed to Stjørdal, my hometown, together with Brage, one of my brothers. We had dinner with my parents and just relaxed in the sunshine.

Me and my pappa! <3
It was so warm, so I pulled my shirt down to leave my
shoulders bare, thus the somewhat strange looking top

.

This is Moa, the farm where I've lived for most of my life. My oldest brother and
his family lives here now, plus my mamma and pappa.

Hellooo sunshine
Brage working on that tan! ;D

I LOVE the GoT TV series, and I've started to read the first book.
I can hardly put it down!

Sunshine and smiles

Today I hopped on my bike and rode into town to meet my best friend Bente for sunshine and smiles. We did a tiny bit of shopping, which is almost obligatory when we're out and about, but mostly we enjoyed the sun.

Hi Bente!

While we were wandering around, some street musicians caught our eyes and ears. Turned out they had spent the last 10 months traveling all around the world, making money along the way by performing, and they had just returned to Norway. They were fantastic! We found ourselves singing and shyly dancing along.

BFFamily performing. You can't see in this picture, but a pretty big crowd
gathered while they were playing.

They'd brought a big map along with them the whole way, drawing in the places they visited as they went.

We then stopped by a thiftstore to hunt for treasures, but we left almost emptyhanded.

How about a foot massager or two?

Pretending to look at a crochet doily for the sake of the picture

Then we headed to Solsiden, which is both a mall and a area with lots of restaurants and cafes. By this time we'd worked up an appetite, so we bought a wrap each and sat down in the grass outside.

D-e-licious!
Happily unaware I am getting sunburned
Then we called it a day and said our goodbyes. :)
I mentioned we did a little bit of shopping. Remember my last post when I said I wanted the miny coloured top from Gina Tricot as well as the tropical print one I got? Well, they didn't have my size but I ended up with this aztec print one instead:

And from the thriftstore I got this necklace/bracelet set for next to nothing:

Recent randoms #1

Thought I'd share some purchases I've made recently! Nothing that'll make your jaws drop, but some nice basics for summer. :)

1: Top from Cubus. The front is in a eyelet fabric and very adorable! The back is plain white cotton with a row of 4 buttons from the top a little ways down.

2: Cropped top from Gina Tricot. I think this'll be great for summer! I bought it in a local store and saw only two versions (this tropical print with black or white background) but when stopping by their online site today I noticed they come in a plethora of different prints and colours. The minty green one calls for me!

3: Polkadot top from the Salvation Army store in Lillehammer. Got this while we were on vacation for just a couple of coins. I didn't even try it on first, me and polkadots go hand in hand.

4: Continuing on with the polkadots! Shorts from Cubus. They're highwaist and there are two rows of fabric covered buttons down the front.

5: Same shorts as the polkadots one, just black obviously. :) I bought this one first, but went back for the polkadot one later.

6: Cubus had shorts on sale, ok? ;) Yet another pair, but these are more modern and plain. I've gone from having not a single pair of shorts, to having more than any woman can wish for in a matter of weeks. Almost.

7: Got these vinyl flats from a second-hand store in Vågå. I'm not what you would call a graceful creature in high heels, so flats are my heroes!

8: Oh hey, more flats! H&M this time.

9: Another pair from the second-hand store in Vågå. How could I not buy these, they're so much fun! I've left them up at the cabin so they can keep my feet warm when I am there. They are made of a thick felt, and the top is sealskin. I know that's not everyones cup of tea, but they are warm, vintage and red.

10: A little Cathrineholm casserole. I have around 10 Cathrineholm casseroles, but only 4 of them with the lotus pattern and none of them red, so I deemed this one mine when I spotted it at Tante Isabel today, a vintage store downtown Trondheim. I'm not a big fan of these lids (there are others in metal only that are much prettier) but oh well. Maybe a lonely lid will find it's way to me someday.

11: Bought this little glass bowl at the Salvation Army yesterday. You can never have enough little bowls?

12: Aaand a new passport! Went to the policestation today and hopefully within 10 days I'll be good to go anywhere I please.

Prepping for sunsoaking

I've mentioned earlier, in my bathing suit post, that I'm spending my summer holiday in Spain. And I am in dire need of some clothing to wear! Not dresses and things like that, but more beachy type things as I don't have a huge array of items that show a lot of skin. I'm more of a knee-length type of girl, but I know it'll probably be scorching hot there for a girl used to Norwegian summers. I have yet to purchase a onepiece swimming suit (it is definately on my shopping list!) but I got a couple of other items that I think I'll be thrilled to have come August. Show and tell time!

I saw this playsuit in a Lindex store while we were on vacation last week. I didn't even try it on as I knew my budget was tight, but I made a mental note of it because I loved the vibrant print on it. When I got back home I stopped by another Lindex store nearby and declared "MINE!". It's comfortable and fun!

Another thing I've gotten is this two-piece suit from H&Ms For Water collection that hit stores last Thursday. I saw that Ulrika of The Freelancers Fashion mentioned it on her Facebook page and only a few hours later I found myself in a H&M dressingroom with 9 items from the collection, and then wandered home with these two. 25% of the sales price go to projects that support sustainable water resources. Doing good by shopping? Yes please! These were 200 NOK each, or 32 USD, but I noticed they are under 20 USD each on the US website.

I've also gotten this bikini from Cubus. It was cheap, it has a leopard print and I need a couple of bikinis. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, haha. Or more like not sure how I feel about *me* inside of it. But I'm sure I'll be glad to have it when I am sunbathing. :)

Also from Cubus I got this chunky straw bracelet for next to nothing, aaand a pair of red shorts. Oh! And a pair of highwaist black shorts. And suddenly my must-have list for summer doesn't look so long anymore! :)

OOTD - June 1st

Today I visited my family, helped my brother move (mostly moral support as my other brothers did the heavy lifting), had a doctors appointment, played around with my nephiew and did a little bit of shopping. Now I'm beat so I am heading to bed!

I'm back!

I'm back from our trip to my parents cabin. Hello internet, I missed you! But truth be told, I would have wanted to stay another 2 weeks if I could, but Krish starts in his new job tomorrow (yay!) so we had to come home.

I've been editing pictures now, we came home with over 500 and I've managed to narrow it down to "just" below 100. Naturally I wont share all of them here, but I do fear this will be a somewhat picture heavy post. Concider yourself warned! :)

Field of flowers to go with my floral print dress

The cabins. One belongs to my parents, the other two to two pairs of aunts and uncles.

I wish I had taken a picture of the cabin the day we left. A week + of warm weather did wonders and the trees turned green in no time. But this is what it looked like on our second day there. It is high up in the mountains so springtime comes a little later. But when it did, it happened with a bang!

Another picture from Maihaugen. There's a "city" there with old shops and houses.
Everything was closed when we were there, but I imagine it's open to the public later in the season.

Last Saturday we went to see some of the cars participating in the Flåklypa Grand Prix, a yearly event taking place in Lom. Almost 400 cars and motorcycles were in the ride, so this is just a small handful.

Tap water? No sir'ee, not around here! :)

And there you have it, a little peek into our paradise in the mountains.
