Recent randoms #4

If you're a nailpolish loving girl (or boy, for that matter) you'll know how annoying it is when they start chipping the moment they've dried. First world problems! I've heard good things about the Seche Vite fast dry top coat so I decided to give it a go. I went ahead and ordered a big refill bottle, and I also got (not pictured) a bottle of Seche Restore which can be used to thin out nailpolishes when they start getting a little thick and gunky.

So what do I think? Well, I put nailpolish + Seche Vite top coat on 6 days ago and I'm pretty impressed! First of all it did dry very quickly, and the finish was super glossy. There's no real chipping yet, but the edges are a little frazzled. They've matted down quite a bit but I can probably get a day or two more of wear out of them. I give it two thumbs up! Here's what they look like now:

On another hand-related note, I was at Bruktbo (second hand shop) the other day and I found this adjustable double heart silver ring. I thought it was cute so I picked it up and the lady behind the counter was kind enough to give it to me for free, along with a pair of earrings. Freebies, hooray!

I also got this fun box/bag from Bruktbo. I'll probably just use it for storage. It's made out of cardboard so I don't think it's very durable, but it scores big on cuteness! :)

And two more Bruktbo purchases: Two clotheshangers and a serving plate from Figgjo Flint, a Norwegian company. I don't know what set it's from bit I liked the design and that's all it takes for me! :)

Funky glasses! My boyfriend seemed to think I bought these as a joke.
I didn't.
:P

My parents gave me the Ikea sewing machine as a early birthdaygift! I've had my eyes on this one, I wanted a simple machine that I could use for small alterations and projects. I'm a complete novice when it comes to sewing so I don't need some beast of a machine. This one fits the bill perfectly. :)

Bags. Can never have enough!

Flats. Can never have enough! :P

After my boyfriends little phone mishap earlier this summer (smartphone meets asphalt = not a match made in heaven) I ordered a cover for mine. A cheap insurance for a pound.

That's all, folks!

  1. Oh my sister told me about Seche Vite before but now I'll definitely have to try it! I always have problems with my polish chipping so fast.

I'm new to sewing as well! I have a very simple machine to start out with. I just need to find a project that is easy enough for me to do haha. :)

  2. I ordered Seche Vite a few months ago and it's the only way I can paint my nails I have no patience.

That machine is adorable!! If you want some simple non clothes tutorials I can probably send you some :)

  3. I had no idea that Ikea sold sewing machines (I suspect they don't in Canada, but we don't have one anywhere near these parts so I can't say that for sure), that's so incredibly cool!

What an awesome haul of items - it's hard to pic a fave. Perhaps leopard flats, but everything is marvelous - right down to how last your mani held up. I've never had mine look anywhere near that good after six days (I'd be pleased if it looked that nice still after two days - clearly that product helps).

  4. Fantastisk flott sitronveske! Bruktbo virker som stedet for gøye kupp. Og grattis på etterskudd med bursdag!

  7. Flotte funn!
