One that got away + 2x OOTD

There's a Salvation Army store nearby that I stop by several times a week. It's on my way to and from the grocery store so it's almost impossible to walk past without poking my head in to see if there's a treasure waiting for me.
For the past month this bikini had been in their window display and I knew it would be mine, mine, mine. They have big signs in each window saying "Items on mannequins will be sold on *this and that date*. First come, first serve. No reservations!" so sadly I couldn't grab it when I first saw it, but I made a big fat note in my mental calendar saying that on Monday July 9th I better be there at 10 in the morning. So I was. The bikini wasn't. Snap!

I told the man who was working there, all excited, "I'm here for the bikiniiii, yaaay!" but he got a apologetic look in his face and said that one of their new employees had sold it over the weekend. Cue my disappointment. Luckily I took a picture of it a few weeks ago so I can show you what it looked like. Isen't it adorable?? Why yes. Yes it is.
I hope the girl who ran away with it looks and feels fabulous in it! And that I never run into her because I will probably tear it off her body. B-e-a-utiful! ;D

My pre-disappointment look:

Tank top: H&M
Cardigan+necklace: Salvation Army
Jeans: Freddies of Pinewood
Shoes: Rocket Originals

Also, my OOTD on Friday or Saturday? I'm not sure, but here:

Dress: Coldfish on Etsy
Bag: H&M
Sunglasses: Ebay
Shoes/necklace: Salvation Army

  1. Ohhhh, that's so rough!!! :( I've had a few similar experiences over the years with garments, but never one quite as marvelous as that bathing suit. As my mom always likes to say though, it just wasn't meant to be and that must mean there's something even better waiting out there for you.

Thank you very much for your wonderfully nice birthday wishes, dear gal, I really appreciate them and hope you week is off to a beautiful start.

  2. Had to come back, because I realized that I forgot to mention how darling you look in both outfits. I can never get enough of your lovely, girly, vintage style, honey!

  3. Poor thing, we all feel your pain, it´s truly a beautiful bikini! But hey, you´re the owner of a pineapple bag :-)

  4. Ohh I hate when lovely things get away! At least you're simply adorable in your outfits! Your hair is always so amazing it makes me long for mine to grow out.

  5. how sad that the bikini was already sold! today i wanted to buy 2 50s dresses an a 50s skirt from an ebay store (i wanted to gift these to myself as a early birthday present) but today all 3 pieces were sold. there must be a girl out there having the same measurements as i have. if i ever run into her one day i will ... ;)

i love your dress from goldfish!
